Fire/Rescue Annual Requirements for EMS Personnel |
1) All active CCF/R EMS personnel must retain state of
Alaska certification as an ETT, EMT 1, II or III or licensure as a Mobile Intensive Care
Paramedic. As part of continuing medical education, EMS personnel must attend
required training on:
a) Bloodborne pathogens
b) Exposure control/infectious waste
c) Hazardous Materials
2) All active CCF/R ETT's and EMT I's must:
a) Attend a minimum of 8 EMS training sessions per year
b) Spend a minimum of 8 hours every calendar quarter on shift
3) All active CCF/R EMT II's must:
a) Attend a minimum of 16 EMS training sessions per year
b) Spend a minimum of 16 hours per quarter on shift.
4) All active CCF/R EMT II's and above must attend a minimum of five (5) run reviews per calendar year
5) All active CCF/R EMT II's and above must successfully
complete:
a) Six (6) I.V.'s per calendar year, to be obtained in the field or lab
b) One (1) endotracheal intubation on a human being (field, O.R., or
cadaver) every two years
c) One (1) mannequin intubation per calendar quarter
