Capital City Fire/Rescue teaches the youth of our community about fire safety and fire prevention through visiting area schools with volunteer and career firefighters. Tools that we use in educating our youth include a packets of information and a fire safety house. The fire safety house simulates a smoke filled environment which teaches our youth how to escape when needed. Active participation and education in the house usually focuses on students of elementary school ages. Our hopes are to teach the hazards of fire, how to prevent incidents of all types and how to escape when needed. Currently our Fire Marshal, Rich Etheridge is in charge of our Fire Prevention and Fire Safety program. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Rich.
This page will be in constant revision. Throughout time, we hope to include more free education and fun materials to increase our audience. Our hope is that through time, this site will be a reference for people of all ages wanting materials and information in fire prevention and education. We would like to thank the National Fire Protection Association and the United States Fire Administration for their contributions to our site.
If you have any suggestions or materials that you would care to donate to the website, please contact the website administrator. We appreciate the efforts of all people interested in the goal of training our youth.
