On the morning of August 2, 2001  Capital City Fire/Rescue's Auke Bay/Lynn Canal and Glacier Districts responded to a fire in a travel trailer that was parked in a turnoff near 35 Mile Glacier Highway.  Engine 41, Engine 51, Tender 52, and Medic 2 responded with over a dozen firefighters.  When personnel arrived, only the tires were left burning.  Firefighters quickly extinguished the remains of the trailer.  Nobody was around the trailer at the time and no one has claimed ownership of it.  The fire marshal and Juneau Police Department are investigating into this incident further.
