On March 9, 2000,  Capital City Fire/Rescue received a report of a fire at the Mountain View Senior Center complex.  The first unit on scene reported smoke showing and asked for a second alarm.  Engine 11, Engine 13, Engine 21, Truck 12, Truck 32, Rescue 1, Medic 1, and Utility 11 responded with personnel from all five districts.  It took firefighters approximately 35 minutes to extinguish the fire, which was accidentally ignited by plumbers working in the building.
