On June 12, 2000 at approximately 5 a.m.  Capital City Fire Rescue responded to a fully involved structure fire on Sharon Street, off of Riverside Drive.  Engine 31, Engine 41, Rescue 1, and Medic 2 responded with personnel from the Glacier and Auke Bay Districts.  When the first firefighters arrived on scene, the structure was completely engulfed in flames.  It took about an hour and a half for firefighters to totally extinguish the blaze.
